AFRO-LATIN JAZZ FUSION MASTER CLASS

In this class, students will explore Afro-Cuban rhythms and movements deeply rooted in several dances of the Caribbean fused with jazz dance technique that includes warm up, across the floor, and center choreography that focuses on the intricacies of Latin dance performance qualities.

Christine Gregory is a New York native who trained at the Alvin Ailey School and Martha Graham School of Contemporary Dance. She holds a BFA in Dance Education from the University of the Arts in Philadelphia, PA and an MFA in Dance from the University of California at Irvine. Christine Gregory has performed in professional modern and Latin dance companies in New York City and Philadelphia, as well as in southern California. She has danced with Brian Sanders, Curt Haworth, Jumatatu Poe, Genesis Dance Company, Santo Rico Dance Company, and guest performed with David LaChapelle, the Pacific Symphony, and the Martha Graham Dance Company. Christine Gregory has had her choreography showcased at international salsa congresses with Santo Rico Dance Company, as well as onstage at several colleges such as UC Irvine, Cerritos College, Cypress College, and Santa Ana College. Currently, she is a full-time faculty member at Cerritos College.

This interactive workshop will teach participants 7 ways to enhance their dance content for maximum reach. Participants will learn simple strategies and tactics to make the most of their dance content. A question and answer segment will also be included as part of this workshop.

Annett Bone is the founder and host of The DancePreneuring Studio podcast where she guides her listeners on a journey of transformation inspired by dance, life, and business. The podcast is a reflection her personal adventure overcoming her fears and returning to her passion for dance after a 20 year hiatus, the lessons that she has learned along the way, and proving that it’s never too late to be great.
